About mobile-ready content

The answer types overview table identifies which answer types can be used to create mobile content. In addition, you must follow the guidelines provided below.

A mobile-ready item means that the entire item can be completed on a mobile device.

The item can contain any of the usual elements (title, parts, hints, answers, wrong answer responses, followup text), with the following exceptions:

• Parts - All parts must be mobile-ready for an item to be considered mobile ready.
• Image files - Acceptable formats include .gif, .jpeg, or .png.
• Hints - Only declarative, clue-type hints are acceptable.

A mobile-ready item cannot contain any of the following elements:

• Media tags (for video or animations)
• Hyperlinks (<a> tags)
• Socratic (question type) hints

To find mobile ready items in the Item Library, select Mobile Items in the content selection area

• The mobile icon in the first column of the list of found items in the Item Library indicates mobile-ready items.
• If you hover over the mobile icon, the following information appears: "Mobile: This item is available for student completion on mobile devices".

When students working in Mobile view encounter assignment items that are NOT mobile-ready, they are directed to go to their computer to complete those items. For more about the mobile Mastering assignment experience, search Mastering student help.
